Shanen is admitted to practice law in California. He graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2005, where he was a member of Pro Bono Legal Advocates (PBLA) and studied intellectual property and corporate law. Shanen received his B.A. in Political Science and American and English Literature from the University of California, Davis. He has also completed coursework in International Commercial Arbitration and International Human Rights at McGill University in Montréal, Canada.
Shanen is an active member of the State Bar of California’s Litigation Section and Business Law Section, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Entertainment Law & Intellectual Property Section and Litigation Section. Shanen is also a Panel Attorney for California Lawyers for the Arts, a non-profit association that provides artists, arts organizations, and entertainment industry workers with affordable access to legal and business information and services.
